About Dr. David Ellett

Ellett graduated in Dentistry from Melbourne University in 1973
as Dux of his year with honors in all subjects and immediately went
into private general practice. He worked in a number of general
practices in the Melbourne suburban area and in 1976 was invited
by the University of Melbourne to commence a Masters degree majoring
in the dental speciality of Orthodontics. This was successfully
completed in 1978 and Dr Ellett then commenced practice at 831 Glenferrie
Road Kew where he is still located today. He received his fellowship
from the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons in 1980 and
is registered as a Specialist Orthodontist with the Dental Board
of Victoria.
Dr Ellett has lectured extensively throughout his career particularly
to local Australian Dental Association groups and study clubs in
the country and interstate. He has been an active member of the
Australian Dental Association, a specialist member of the Australian
Society of Orthodontists, a part-time senior clinical demonstrator
at the School of Dental Science University of Melbourne and part-time
lecturer to both undergraduate and post graduate students. He was
on the editorial board of the Australian Orthodontic Journal for
seven years and has been a chairperson and secretary of local groups
of the Australian Dental Association and a member of sub-committee's
of the Australian Dental Association Victoria branch.
Dr Ellett is married and has three children all of whom have completed
their tertiary studies with one a Medical Practitioner and the other
two in the IT industry. His hobbies and interests include golf,
snow skiing, tennis and AFL (supporter and former player of the
Hawthorn Football Club and VFL field umpire).
